Helene von Krause

Helene von Krause , b. von Boddien , pseudonym : C. v. Hellen (born January 13, 1841 in Brandenburg an der Havel , † April 14, 1915 in Ludwigslust ) was a German writer.

Helene came from a family of officers and was the daughter of Adolf von Boddien (1812–1885), a son of Major General Johann Caspar von Boddien from Mecklenburg , and his wife Alberta, née. von Arnim (1821-1899). She first grew up in Schwedt on the Oder and on the Klein-Plasten estate . She went to school in Ludwigslust, where she spent three years in Weger's pension . The last years before the marriage she lived in Neustrelitz , where her father had become court marshal at the grand ducal court of Mecklenburg-Strelitz . 1862 she married here the Kürassier - Lieutenant Karl Krause. The couple lived in different places until Karl von Krause's death in 1889, most recently in Pasewalk . Then she returned to Ludwigslust and lived in the house at Am Bassin 8 . She was buried at the side of her husband in the Ludwigslust cemetery.

Helene von Krause mainly wrote novels, essays and poems in magazines and newspapers such as Fürs Haus , Illustrierte Frauenzeitung , Kreuzzeitung and two larger novels and Unter der Wendish Krone: Wanderings through Mecklenburg. Some of the novellas have appeared as popular books in the Christian Zeitschriftenverein in Berlin.
