Hella Joof
Hella Joof (born November 1, 1962 in Birkerød , Denmark ) is a Danish actress , screenwriter and director .
Life
Joof is the daughter of a Danish mother and a Gambian father. Hella Joof trained as an actor at the Odense Theater from 1986 to 1990 . Afterwards she worked as a theater actress at the Det Danske Teater from 1991 . She had other appearances and engagements at Aveny Teatret , Det Kongelige Teater , Betty Nansen Teatret and at Grønnegårds Teatret .
Joof directed En kort en lang (2001), Oh Happy Day (2004) and Fidibus (2006). Her film debut En kort en lang saw about ten percent of the Danish population. The remake rights for her second work Oh Happy Day were sold to Disney .
Shake It All About received an award at the 24th Moscow International Film Festival . Joof moderated Bullerfnis and other children's programs , she was also the voice of the heroine in the hardcore porn film Constance .
As an actress, she had won various awards as a supporting actress in several comedies, such as Hannibal & Jerry (1997), Den eneste ene (1999) and Humørkort-stativ-sælgerens søn (2002). Hella Joof was also a member of the jury for the Danish version of Das Supertalent .
Furthermore, from 1997 she worked in the Danish comedy group Lex & Klatten together with Paprika Steen , Martin Brygmann and Peter Frödin , as well as with music by Nikolaj Steen , Stig Kreutzfeldt and Jonas Krag . Lex & Klatten was broadcast on TV 2 as a satirical program and TV show with sketches and musical entertainment. Some of their successful hits like For kendt and Rørvig were released on EMI . The album of the same name Lex & Klatten won the Danish Music Awards in 1998 in the Danish Group of the Year category.
On September 1st, 2009, Hella Joof began studying theology at the University of Copenhagen .
She has a daughter with the Danish actor Runi Lewerissa , the television and radio presenter and screenwriter Olivia Joof Lewerissa .
