Hellmuth Opitz (born January 6, 1959 in Bielefeld ) is a German writer .

life and work

From 1979 to 1984 Hellmuth Opitz studied German and philosophy in Münster . He then worked as editor-in-chief for a city ​​magazine and as a freelance journalist wrote reviews , features and interviews for well-known music magazines such as Musikexpress and Rolling Stone . Opitz has been writing poems since 1982, which are published in individual titles as well as anthologies and literary magazines. They are characterized by lacony, but also by irony. He also writes satires , glosses and essays for newspapers, magazines and radio. He is a member of the Association of German Writers and has been a member of the PEN Center Germany since May 2016 .
