Helmut Herles

Helmut Herles (born May 9, 1940 in Komotau ) is a German journalist and publicist . His pseudonym is Hieronymus .

Life

Herles was born in Bohemia . He studied German , Russian and folklore at the universities in Frankfurt am Main , Bonn and Vienna . In 1969 he was at the Philosophical Faculty in Frankfurt with the dissertation Nestroys comedy "The Talisman". From the first note to the finished work. With previously unpublished manuscripts on Dr. phil. PhD.

Herles initially worked as a foreign correspondent for the Catholic weekly Publik in Rome and for the Süddeutsche Zeitung in Frankfurt am Main. From 1975 to 1991 he worked for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung in Bonn. From 1991 to 1999 he was editor-in-chief of the General-Anzeiger in Bonn. He then became the newspaper's chief correspondent .
