Helmut Mark

Helmut Mark (* 1958 in Stall , Carinthia ) is an Austrian artist.

Life

From 1976 to 1981 he studied painting at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna . Since 1995 he has been a professor at the University for Graphics and Book Art , Leipzig .

Mark was a founding member of the media artist collective Independent Film Video Austria (UFVA; 1983–1988); Blix (1983-1986); The Thing (1993-2000). He is a member of the Vienna Secession .

Mark lives and works in Vienna and Leipzig .

His range of work includes sculpture, painting, drawing, photography and video. Works by Mark are represented in the following collections, among others: Museum of Modern Art Ludwig Foundation, Vienna , Tyrolean State Museum Ferdinandeum , Innsbruck ; Museion Bolzano ; Museum of Fine Arts Leipzig ; Museum of Applied Arts Vienna ; Museum Liaunig , Neuhaus ; Generali Foundation .
