Helmut Riegger

Helmut Riegger (* 19th May 1962 in Sigmaringen ) is a German local politician of the CDU and since February 1, 2010 District Administrator of the district Calw .

education and profession

After completing a commercial apprenticeship, Riegger studied at the University of Applied Sciences for Public Administration in Ludwigsburg . After graduating with a degree in administration , he worked for the Baden-Württemberg state government for eleven years. First he worked between 1989 and 1994 at the Baden-Württemberg State Representation in Bonn . Subsequently, until 1998 he was an advisor to the then Prime Minister Erwin Teufel in the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg and from 1998 to 2000 he headed the office of Minister Willi Stächele in the State Ministry of Baden-Württemberg.

Political career

From 2000 to 2004 Riegger was mayor in Kirchheim unter Teck . After losing the second ballot against Angelika Matt-Heidecker ( SPD ) in the mayoral election on December 21, 2003 , he applied for the post of First Mayor of the large district town of Sindelfingen (Böblingen district) and was succeeded by the Sindelfingen local council in 2004 Andreas Schütze elected.

The Calwer district council elected Riegger on December 21, 2009 in the first ballot with 46 of 53 votes to succeed Hans-Werner Köblitz (Free Voters), who retired at the end of January 2010 after 13 years in office.

Other offices

In his function as district administrator, Riegger is also one of three chairmen of the administrative board of Sparkasse Pforzheim Calw and chairman of the supervisory board of Klinikverbund Südwest GmbH , Kreiskliniken Calw gGmbh, Umwelt-Service Nordschwarzwald GmbH, Abfallwirtschaft Landkreis Calw GmbH, Wirtschaftsförderung Nordschwarzwald GmbH and Tourismus GmbH Northern Black Forest.

Family and private

Helmut Riegger is married and has three children (as of December 2009).
