Helmut Swoboda (writer)

Helmut Swoboda (born April 6, 1924 in Vienna , † June 13, 2003 ibid) was an Austrian journalist and writer .

Life

Swoboda studied German and newspaper studies after high school. He obtained his doctorate in 1948. phil. and in 1969 Dr. rer. pole. He then worked as a journalist in Vienna and Geneva. From 1965 he lived as a freelance writer in his hometown Vienna. In 1973 he was awarded the Austrian State Prize for journalistic achievements in the interests of science and research . Swoboda was a member of the Austrian PEN Club Association .

Helmut Swoboda died on June 13, 2003 at the age of 79 and was buried on July 7, 2003 at the Südwestfriedhof (group 64, row 24, number 9).
