The Henneberg is 126.6  m above sea level. NHN high elevation of the Magdeburger Börde in the urban area of Wanzleben-Börde in the Saxony-Anhalt district of Börde .

Geographical location

The Henneberg rises roughly in the center of the Magdeburger Börde directly east-southeast of the village of Blumenberg , a south-south-east part of Wanzleben-Börde. In the neighboring municipality of Sülzetal is 4 km east-northeast of the summit Langenweddingen and 3.6 km south of Schwaneberg . The Sülze rises east of the Henneberg , and the Sarre flows past it to the northwest . The federal highway 246a runs past northeast and the Magdeburg – Thale railway line runs through Blumenberg to the north .

A small wood extends from the summit of the Henneberg down the western slope. One area of ​​the elevation is called a thing place . There is also a gravel pit and a garbage dump .

Events

The Henneberg experienced several major cultural events. The teaching staff of the then Wanzleben district organized a local festival on September 2, 1928 . Two pieces by the local poet Waldemar Uhde were performed with more than 2,000 children in front of 4,000 spectators . The meadow festival was shown as a prelude . The Dat Hollekind festival followed . In 1936 a mountain gymnastics festival with 800 participants was held.

Opportunities for viewing

The Henneberg allows a wide view of the flat Magdeburg Börde . A report from 1928 stated that ten windmills could still be seen from the Henneberg . In 1930 it was reported that 60 factory chimneys could still be seen from the mountain.
