Henri Alfred Bernardin Hoffmann

Henri Alfred Bernardin Hoffmann OFMCap (born September 24, 1909 in Siewiller , France , † March 21, 1979 in Djibouti ) was a French Roman Catholic bishop.

Hoffmann was ordained a priest for the Capuchins on April 20, 1935 . On September 28, 1945 he was appointed Apostolic Prefect of Djibouti. On April 12, 1957, Pius XII. the prefecture to the Diocese of Djibouti and appointed Hoffmann first bishop. On August 4, 1957, Jean-Julien Weber , Bishop of Strasbourg , consecrated Bishop with the assistance of Joseph-Paul Strebler , Archbishop of Lomé , and Joseph-Jean Heintz , Bishop of Metz . He attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .
