Michel-Joseph-Gérard Gagnon MAfr (born March 23, 1933 in Québec , † June 1, 2004 in El Bayadh ) was Bishop of Laghouat .

Life

Michel-Joseph-Gérard Gagnon joined the order of the White Fathers and was ordained a priest on April 1, 1956 .

John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Djibouti on March 28, 1980 . The Pope personally consecrated him bishop on May 4th of the same year ; Co - consecrators were Joseph-Albert Cardinal Malula , Archbishop of Kinshasa , and Agnelo Cardinal Rossi , Cardinal Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples .

He resigned from his office on July 3, 1987. On February 4, 1991, he was appointed Bishop of Laghouat .
