Henrik von Appen (born December 15, 1994 in Santiago de Chile ) is a Chilean ski racer .

Career

Von Appen contested his first international race on August 7, 2009 at an FIS race in Cerro Castor . A day later he made his debut in the South American Cup . In 2011 , 2012 , 2014 and 2015 he took part in the Junior World Championships. His best result in 2015 was a 25th place in the Super G. At his first Alpine World Ski Championships in 2013 in Schladming , von Appen achieved 67th place in the giant slalom and was eliminated in the slalom. On November 30, 2013 he made his debut in the World Cup in the Downhill of Lake Louise , Canada and was 63. On January 24, 2014 he made his debut in the European Cup in Val-d'Isère , was 67 in the Downhill von Appen took part in the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . He started in every discipline, except slalom, but could never get into the top 30. At the 2015 World Cup in the USA he was able to achieve 32nd place in the combination . On August 7, 2015, he won his first race in the giant slalom in the South American Cup in Chapelco . His best World Cup result was 32nd place on the Val Gardena downhill run on December 19, 2015.
