Henry-Bernard Baptiste (born March 12, 1989 in Rodrigues ) is a shot putter from Mauritius and his country's current record holder in this discipline.

Athletic career

Henry-Bernard Baptiste gained his first international experience at the 2015 African Games in Brazzaville , where he finished fifth with a width of 16.55 m. The following year he reached ninth place at the African Championships in Durban with 16.71 m and in 2017 he won the bronze medal behind the Congolese Franck Elemba and Bob Bertemes from Luxembourg at the Francophonie Games in Abidjan with 17.56 m . In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time , where he was eliminated with 17.20 m in qualification before he finished sixth at the African Championships in Asaba with 17.99 m. In 2019 he finished eighth at the Africa Games in Rabat with a width of 17.88 m.
