Henry Aloysius Gogarty

Henry Aloysius Gogarty CSSp (born September 9, 1884 in Cavan , Ireland ; † December 8, 1931 ) was an Irish Roman Catholic religious and Vicar Apostolic of Kilimanjaro .

Life

Henry Aloysius Gogarty attended Rockwell College and then studied at the Royal University of Ireland . He joined the religious community of Spiritans and completed the novitiate in Chevilly-Larue . Gogarty received in the October 28, 1913 Paris , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On December 23, 1923, Pope Pius XI appointed him . the titular bishop of Themiscyra and Vicar Apostolic of Kilimanjaro. The Archbishop of Dublin , Edward Joseph Byrne , donated him episcopal ordination on June 9, 1924 ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Waterford and Lismore , Bernard Hackett CSsR , and the Bishop of Dromore , Edward Mulhern .
