The Bistum Waterford and Lismore ( ir. : Deoise Phort Láirge Agus Leasa moire , lat. : Dioecesis Vaterfordiensis et Lismoriensis ) is in Ireland preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Waterford .

history

The diocese of Waterford and Lismore was established in 1096 by Pope Urban II as the diocese of Waterford . On June 16, 1363, the Diocese of Waterford was merged with the Diocese of Lismore and renamed the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore . The diocese of Waterford and Lismore is subordinate to the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly as a suffragan .
