The Diocese of Achonry ( ir. : Deoise Achadh Conaire , lat. : Dioecesis Achadensis ) is in Ireland situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Ballaghaderreen ( Bealach an Doirín ) in County Roscommon . It includes 23 parishes in Mayo , Roscommon, and Sligo Counties .

history

The Diocese of Achonry was founded in 560 by Pope Pelagius I. built. 1150 the diocese of Achonry was subordinated to the archdiocese of Tuam as a suffragan . At times it was also referred to as the Diocese of Luighne .
