The Roman Catholic Diocese of Elphin ( ir. : Deoise Ail Finn , lat. : Dioecesis Elphinensis ) is in Ireland situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Sligo .

history

The diocese of Elphin was established in 450 by Pope Leo the Great . In 1150 the diocese of Elphin was subordinated to the archdiocese of Tuam as a suffragan .
