Herbert Burschik

Herbert Burschik (* 1922 in Prague ; † 1990 in Eisenhüttenstadt ) was a German artist ( sculptor / sculptor ).

Herbert Burschik completed an apprenticeship as a businessman after his school days, was then called up for military service and after the end of the war worked in various professions.

After training as a stonemason from 1948 to 1950 in Sondershausen , Herbert Burschik studied from 1950 to 1955 at the Dresden University of Fine Arts in the field of sculpture with Walter Arnold . He graduated with a diploma and completed, thereafter until 1958, a postgraduate .

From 1959 he worked as a freelancer in Stalinstadt (today Eisenhüttenstadt ), then in Frankfurt (Oder) . During his creative period he went on study trips to Poland , Hungary , Czechoslovakia (ČSSR) and the Soviet Union (USSR).

Herbert Burschik's sculptures are in public space and can be found in public collections. This also includes a lot of architecture-related work. His works have been shown in numerous group and solo exhibitions at home and abroad.

  • 1973 and 1983 solo exhibitions in Eisenhüttenstadt and participation in exhibitions in Potsdam and Brandenburg
  • Participation in exhibitions in the Federal Republic of Germany , Poland, the USSR and the ČSSR
  • Participation together with artist colleagues from Eisenhüttenstadt, after the conclusion of the first German-German town twinning, in an exhibition in Saarlouis
  • 1977, 1982 and 1986 participation in exhibitions "Art and Sport" in Leipzig and Frankfurt (Oder)
  • In 1992 on the occasion of his 70th birthday and in 2007 on the occasion of his 85th birthday, individual exhibitions in the City Museum Eisenhüttenstadt commemorated him and his artistic work was honored
  • In 2020, the 30th anniversary of his death was commemorated with the cabinet exhibition Herbert Burschik - Works from the art collection of the Städtisches Museum in the Städtisches Museum, Galerie & Kunstsammlung Eisenhüttenstadt / OT Fürstenberg (Oder), parallel to the work show Sandra Rienäcker - Painting and Graphics .
