Herbert Hintner

Herbert Hintner (born September 2, 1957 in Pichl / Gsies ( South Tyrol / Italy )) is a South Tyrolean chef. He owns the restaurant "Zur Rose" ( Eppan / South Tyrol).

Life

Herbert Hintner was born on September 2, 1957 as the oldest of four children in Pichl. After graduating from secondary school, he began training as a chef in the Hotel Centrale ( Gadertal / South Tyrol / Italy) in 1972 , parallel to his training at the vocational school in Bozen . He cooked in various hotels in South Tyrol as well as in 5-star hotels in Alsace and Tyrol , also with celebrity chef Dieter Müller . He came into contact with creative cuisine in the Hotel Klosterbräu (Seefeld / Tyrol).

In 1982 he married Margot Rabensteiner, daughter of Peter and Rosa Rabensteiner, owner of the restaurant "Zur Rose" in Eppan (South Tyrol / Italy), which they have run together since 1985. Hintner achieved top ratings in the “Zur Rose” restaurant in Eppan (South Tyrol / Italy), including being awarded a Michelin star in 1995 and others in restaurant guides: “ Gault Millau ”, “ Gambero Rosso ”, “Espresso”, “Veronelli”.
