Herbert Siegfried

Herbert Siegfried (born December 6, 1901 in Schwerin , † April 18, 1988 in Munich ) was a German ambassador .

Life

Herbert Siegfried's father was Attorney General Paul Siegfried in Rostock . From 1920 to 1924 he studied at the Universities of Heidelberg , Munich and Rostock law ; he received his doctorate in law in 1927 . In 1928 Siegfried passed the second state examination in law.

In 1929 Siegfried joined the foreign service . In 1934 he was sent to Cairo as secretary of the legation . In 1937 Herbert joined the NSDAP with membership number 4,009,260. From 1937 to 1943 Siegfried was employed in Wilhelmstrasse (Berlin-Mitte) . Siegfried was Consul General in Geneva from 1943 to 1945 .

From 1947 to 1951 Siegfried practiced the profession of lawyer in Bielefeld . In 1951 he was accepted into the foreign service of the Federal Republic of Germany. From 1951 to 1954 Siegfried was counselor in Brussels. In the summer of 1954 he was sent to Stockholm as envoy, first class.
