Utzverlag

The utzverlag is a specialist book and science publisher in Munich .

The publishing house was founded in 1994 under the name Herbert Utz Verlag by space engineers Peter Eckart, Thomas Neff and Herbert Utz and in its early days mainly produced specialist books on space travel . Herbert Utz was the sole managing partner of the publishing house from 1998 to 2018.

Today's program covers all fields of science, in particular law, history and social sciences, as well as natural and engineering sciences. Around 70 university professors and other scientists oversee the publisher's specialist series as editors.

In 1999 the fictional imprint Literareon was founded. In 2004 utzverlag took over the brands and specialist series of the science publishers VVF and tuduv, which had existed since the early 1970s. Since 2005 the publisher has been responsible for the Miscellanea Bavarica Monacensia series founded in 1967 by Karl Bosl on behalf of the Munich City Archives and the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich .

The first scientific book on Wikipedia has been published by utzverlag .
