Heribert von Larisch

Heribert von Larisch (born July 18, 1894 in Freiburg im Breisgau , † May 16, 1972 in Hamburg ) was a German officer , most recently lieutenant general in World War II .

Life

As a flag junior he joined the 2nd Grand Ducal Mecklenburg Dragoon Regiment No. 18 (Parchim) on February 5, 1914 , with whom he entered World War I only a few months later . In September 1914 he was promoted to lieutenant . This was followed by his deployment in the Parchimer Dragoons regimental association until February 1918 and he subsequently became a company commander in the 359th Infantry Regiment of the 206th Infantry Regiment. After the 359th Infantry Regiment was disbanded, Oberleutnant von Larisch returned to the Parchim regimental association in mid-December 1918 to late March 1920 with various tasks.

After serving in the Provisional Reichswehr , he began studying at the University of Rostock in February 1920 . In 1924 he wrote the regimental history of the Parchimer Dragoons in the First World War.

In the Wehrmacht he only served as battalion and regimental commander in World War II and as a commander only led the 78th Infantry Division from November 1943 to February 1944 as a representative of Hans Traub and then, in October 1944, promoted to Lieutenant General until February 1945 129th Infantry Division .

He had been married since 1917.
