Herman Wolbers ( Hermanus Gerhardus Wolbers , born May 27, 1856 in Heemstede , † December 29, 1926 in The Hague ) was a Dutch landscape and animal painter, as well as a watercolorist, draftsman and etcher.

In the tradition of his grandfather and great-grandfather, Herman Wolbers devoted himself to painting. He became a student of Willem Vester (1824–1895) and Anthonie Jacobus van Wijngaerdt (1808–1887). It is possible that he was also advised by Salomon Leonardus Verveer (1813–1876).

Herman Wolbers worked in Heemstede until 1888, then in Haarlem and in The Hague. He mainly painted meadow landscapes, dune landscapes between the cities of Heemstede and Haarlem. He also painted farm still lifes and animal scenes.

His works show an influence from Impressionism and the Hague School . He signed his pictures with "HG Wolbers". In 1878, 1879 and 1880 he was awarded the royal prize for free painting three times. Herman Wolbers was a member of " Arti et Amicitiae " in Amsterdam and " Pulchri Studio " in The Hague.

During his lifetime exhibitions of his work took place in Rotterdam (from 1878 to 1905), Amsterdam , Arnhem and The Hague.

His works can be found in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and in the Boymans van Beuningen Museum in Rotterdam.
