Hermann Bergenthal
Hermann Bergenthal (born October 7, 1891 in Oberschledorn ; † December 4, 1975 there ) was a German painter .
Life
Hermann Bergenthal was the son of the church painter of the same name, born in Oberschledorn in 1861 . On October 18, 1909, he enrolled at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich and studied religious painting under Martin von Feuerstein .
In 1910, Bergenthal carried out figurative painting as his first work in the parish church in Endorf , which his father had painted . In 1912/1913 he painted the altar leaves of the Marienkirche in Dalhausen . Further works can be found in the churches of Stahle and Herstelle on the Weser, in Dortmund, Duisburg or Bonn, Dorlar, Oesdorf or Düdinghausen. In 2008, the Sauerland Museum in Arnsberg showed a retrospective of works by the artist family.
