Hermann Bringmann

Hermann Bringmann (born May 28, 1936 in Duderstadt , † December 11, 2001 in Sarstedt ) was a German sports educator, sports official and administrative officer .

In his youth Bringmann was an active gymnast at the TV Deutsche Eiche Bilshausen (Eichsfeld), where he was soon elected head gymnastics supervisor and in 1961 helped to found the Bilshausen Spielmannszug. He remained connected to his home community throughout his life and wrote the village chronicle, among other things. and was an honorary member of the gymnastics club. After graduating from high school in Duderstadt, he studied sports in Göttingen (exams with Wilhelm Henze ) and German studies. After completing his legal clerkship in Diepholz , he was first a teacher and later a senior teacher in Peine .

career

In 1969 he succeeded Willi Greite and was soon responsible for all of Lower Saxony's school and club sports as a ministerial advisor. In 1991, as part of the division of responsibilities, he was only responsible for extracurricular sport in the Ministry of the Interior until his retirement in 2001.

He was a founding member and for a long time coordinator of the conference of sports officers of the federal states. For many years he was a member of the sports facilities working group of the Federal Institute for Sports Science . He headed the anti-doping working group of the conference of sports ministers and represented the Federal Republic in the sports and cultural working group of the Council of Europe and prepared the European Sports Charter. In 1977 he founded the Lower Saxony Tour of Radamateurs and became its acting chairman. In 1980 he coordinated the establishment of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History for the state of Lower Saxony and remained a member of the board until his retirement in 2001.

In 1991 he was elected chairman of the Jahn Sarstedt eV gymnastics club and remained so until his death. From 1966 until his death he led the choir of the Catholic Church in Sarstedt. He was involved in Catholic adult education and was chairman of adult education in the Hildesheim diocese and, from 1991, of all Catholic adult education in the state of Lower Saxony.

Bringmann died of a pulmonary embolism shortly after he retired. His files are in the archive of the Lower Saxony Institute for Sports History .
