Hermann Müller-Sagan
Wilhelm Hermann Müller ( called Müller-Sagan in parliament to differentiate between them ; * March 7, 1857 in Lippstadt , † October 10, 1912 in Lichterfelde ) was a German publisher and left-liberal politician .
Life
Müller was born as the son of Hermann Müller and Sophie Marie Elisabeth Schmitz in Lippstadt. He was married and had six children.
Müller studied natural sciences in Jena , Strasbourg and Göttingen . He received his doctorate as Dr. phil. He then worked as a teacher in Lippstadt from 1877 to 1880 , in London in 1880 and in Liegnitz in 1881 . From 1888 Müller was a publisher and partner in C. Flemming's publishing house in Glogau . He was also the publisher of the Lower Silesian Gazette from 1888 to 1898. Müller was also the editor of the Liberal newspaper.
Müller belonged to the Liberal People's Party . From 1890 to 1896 he was a city councilor in Glogau. From 1892 to 1907 he was a member of the Reichstag . He was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives from 1899 until his death.
As the successor to Eugen Richter , Müller was chairman of the Free People's Party from 1906.
Hermann Müller's grave in the Lankwitz cemetery has been preserved to this day. At his grave site are Helene Müller (* September 17, 1863, † July 11, 1943) and Ilse Mueller (born November 19 1887 † April 24, 1945) buried. The large common gravestone bears an inscription based on the Luther Bible :
