Hermann Matthies (architect)

Hermann Matthies (born March 24, 1871 in Lüneburg ; † February 15, 1911 there ) was a German architect .

Hermann Matthies grew up in the early days of the German Empire and was a brother of the future architect Wilhelm Matthies (1867–1934).

After initially studying in Holzminden at the local building trade school , he studied in Hanover from 1892 to 1893 under the matriculation number 10076 as a student of Conrad Wilhelm Hase at the Hanover Technical University . Also in 1892, Matthies was accepted into the Bauhütte zum white sheet .

From around 1894 Hermann Matthies settled in his hometown and bought a brick factory in Ebstorf . Until his untimely death in 1911 Hermann Matthies created in and around Lüneburg especially various under monument protection standing residential and commercial buildings.
