Hermann Paul Gerhard

Hermann Paul Gerhard (born November 18, 1827 in Kulm ; † March 6, 1881 ) was a lawyer and member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Gerhard attended high schools in Schulpforta , Königsberg in the Neumark , Züllichau and Cottbus . In 1848 he began studying law at the University of Halle , 1850 he was Auskultator , 1852 and 1855 trainee doctorate he became Dr. jur. In 1856 he became assessor and later assistant public prosecutor at the district court in Labiau . From 1861 he was a district judge in Schwiebus , where he got problems because of his political activities. As a result of a sharp personal argument with the then Minister of Justice Graf zur Lippe , he resigned from the judicial service at his request in 1866, but rejoined in April 1872. In the meantime he was a private citizen in Züllichau, became a city councilor and for the last two years the head of the city. From April 1872 to July 1, 1875 he acted as district judge at Lautenburg in West Prussia , and since then as district judge in Kulm.

He became a member of the Reichstag in September 1875 by by-election for the resigned MP Friedrich Meyer . He was elected in the constituency of Marienwerder 4 (Thorn) and held the mandate until 1878. In the Reichstag he joined the " Group Löwe-Berger " faction .
