Friedrich Meyer (politician, 1826)

Friedrich Heinrich Meyer (born October 18, 1826 in Danzig ; † July 24, 1888 in Berlin ) was a German lawyer and member of the Reichstag .

Meyer attended grammar school in Danzig until 1843, from 1843 to 1846 he studied at the universities in Berlin and Heidelberg and received his doctorate in Halle in 1862 . During his studies he became a member of the Corps Palatia , which transferred to the Teutonia fraternity in 1845 . In 1847 he entered the judicial service, from 1852 to 1864 he was public prosecutor in Marienburg and Thorn , and since 1864 a lawyer . He was also the author of a commentary on the German Criminal Code. In 1872 Meyer returned to the judicial service, became a senior councilor in the Reich Justice Office and a member of the Reich Patent Office. In 1862 he founded the German Singers Association in Coburg.

From 1867 to 1875 he represented the constituency of Marienwerder 4 ( Thorn - Kulm ) first in the Reichstag of the North German Confederation , then in the German Reichstag for the National Liberal Party . The mandate expired in 1875 when he joined the Reich Justice Office.
