Hermann Strunk

Carl Ferdinand Hermann Strunk (born April 19, 1882 in Dobien , Wittenberg district , † February 6, 1933 in Danzig ) was a German philologist and politician ( DDP ).

Life

Strunk studied at the Friedrichs University in Halle and became a member of the Germania Halle fraternity in 1901 . In 1906 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD. He was the secretary of the Men of the Morning Star . He became City School Councilor in the City of Gdansk Magistrate. After the formation of the Free City of Danzig in 1920, he was elected full-time Senator for Culture in Senate Sahm I on December 6, 1920 . He was re-elected on December 10, 1924 and again on December 18, 1928 and thus determined the educational fortunes of the city for many years. Only with the new Senate election after the People's Day election in Gdansk in 1930 (this was prematurely due to a constitutional amendment) he left the Senate. At the end of his tenure in 1930 he fell ill with severe kidney disease, from which he died.
