Oliver Ewy

Oliver Ewy (* 1992 in Bonn ) is a German actor and singer .

Life

Ewy grew up in his hometown of Bonn . Until 2011 he attended the Vinzenz-Pallotti-Kolleg, a private school in Rheinbach near Bonn, which is sponsored by the Pallottines .

Theater, film and television

2008 Ewy was at an open audition selected by the director Yvonne Schwartz and the young ensemble of the theater of Bonn invited. At the age of 15, Ewy was the youngest member of the ensemble to date. In the following seasons of 2008/2009 and 2009/2010 two productions followed, including the musical Sweet Little Sixty in Halle Beuel , in which he was a soloist .

In 2010, director Moritz Seibert accepted Ewy into the youth ensemble of the Bonn Young Theater . In production Krabat of Otfried Preussler he took over the role of the evil Lyschko , the henchman of the master. The production was on the program over 100 times in two seasons (2010/2011, 2011/2012).

In 2011 Oliver Ewy received a solo role from director Jens Kerbel in Kerbel's revival of the opera Eloise . In Kerbel's follow-up production Peer Gynt (Opera) by Henrik Ibsen , he played the leading role of the same name, Peer Gynt .

Under the director Simona Furlani, Ewy has since worked as a guest actor in Die Weber ( Gerhart Hauptmann ) and Reigen ( Arthur Schnitzler ). Ewy has also been involved in several film and TV productions.

In the summer of 2012, the Swiss Oscar winner Xavier Koller became aware of Ewy and hired him for the international film production The Black Brothers (2014) . At the side of Moritz Bleibtreu and Richy Müller , Ewy stood in front of the camera as Alfredo , leader of the black brothers. The film was first released in 2013 and, with over 100,000 admissions, was one of the most successful Swiss films of the year. Koller's novel adaptation two nominations received for the Swiss Film Prize in 2014 and was among others at the 44th International Film Festival Kiev as Best Children's Film Award.

Filming for Volevo nascondermi began in 2018 . Together with Elio Germano , Ewy shares the main role of the artist Antonio Ligabue . The biographical film adaptation of the Italian artist, who is considered the most important representative of Art brut, was nominated for the Golden Bear in the competition of the 70th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) . The world premiere took place as part of the festival on February 21, 2020 in the Berlinale Palast .

In addition to his work as an actor, Oliver Ewy also worked as a singer. Among other things, he made it to the finals of the TV show Best Voice from KiKA , ARD and ZDF in 2009 and in the same year had twice as bad concert appearances with his band .
