Hermann Thaler

Hermann Thaler (born November 11, 1950 in Deutschnofen ) is an Italian politician from South Tyrol .

Thaler initially worked as an employee in the South Tyrolean Farmers' Association and later acted as managing director of the South Tyrolean State Hunting Association and the Haflinger Breeding Association. He worked as sales director for the Forst brewery . He was also the organization president of the Oswald-von-Wolkenstein-Ritt .

Thaler has been politically active in the South Tyrolean People's Party since 1979 . In 1985 he was elected chairman of his place of residence Völs am Schlern , and in 1997 chairman of the SVP district of Bozen Stadt und Land . In 1998 he was able to win a mandate for the South Tyrolean state parliament and at the same time the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol . In the state parliament he acted as president from 1998 to 2001, in the second half of the legislative period until 2003 as vice-president.

In the state elections in 2003 missed Thaler just the re-election, but had nevertheless from 2005, when he for the mayor of Brixen selected Albert Pürgstaller could move up until 2008 held a seat in Parliament.
