Franz Friedrich Hermann Trebbin (born May 28, 1881 in Golzow in the Uckermark , † June 22, 1954 in Müllrose ) was a local researcher in Müllrose, in the Schlaube region and in the Lebuser Land .

He came from a farming family and, after graduating from elementary school, rose to the position of school principal by attending a preparatory institute and a teachers' seminar . In 1910 he became rector of the Müllros city school, which bore his name for many years. He held this office until 1930 when he retired from school due to a hearing impairment. The suffering was the result of a lightning strike in his youth.

After retiring from professional life, he devoted himself to researching local history . His research focused on the history and culture of the city of Müllrose, the Lebus district and the city of Frankfurt (Oder) .

Due to his activities, the local history museum was opened in the town hall of Müllrose on December 10, 1933. In 1934 the first edition of his Müllroser Stadtgeschichte was published: Müllrose - from the fate and struggles of a Brandenburg country town , followed in 1937 and 1939 by the first two volumes of the three-volume series From the past of the Lebus district and the city of Frankfurt an der Oder .

A further publication of his literary activities was prevented by the Second World War and the subsequent establishment of the GDR . The existing records from the holdings of the local history museum show that Hermann Trebbin, like many other contemporaries, was initially impressed by the National Socialist regime . From the beginning of the Second World War at the latest, however, he was much more critical of the Hitler regime, so that the publication of his documentation would have brought considerable difficulties. The post-war years also offered no possibility of publication due to his initially Hitler-friendly formulations and statements, since he would probably have been classified as Nazi-oriented. A reprint of his Müllros town history with an explanatory foreword did not take place until 2003.

Hermann Trebbin was buried in the Mittelfriedhof in Müllrose, his wife Katharina died in 1971.
