Hermann Maximilian Bernhard von Rozynski-Manger (born April 13, 1808 in Potsdam , † August 24, 1890 in Coburg ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Hermann was the son of Oberhofbaurate Heinrich Konrad Manger and his wife Karoline Wilhelmine, née Birkner.

Military career

Manger joined the 6th Artillery Brigade of the Prussian Army as a gunner on October 1, 1824 and graduated from the United Artillery and Engineering School in 1826/28 . He was then promoted to Second Lieutenant on June 22, 1829, Premier Lieutenant on October 13, 1842, and Captain on July 5, 1849. On February 21, 1850 he was aggregated into the 6th Artillery Regiment and posted as an adjutant in the 3rd Artillery Inspection. On November 1, 1850, he was placed à la suite of the 6th Artillery Regiment, leaving his position , and on August 21, 1852, he was transferred to the adjutantage. On June 18, 1853, he was transferred to the 5th Artillery Regiment on June 21, 1846, leaving his position with a patent. He was promoted to major on August 28, 1856 and at the same time transferred from the square to Stettin as an artillery officer . On April 3, 1858 he was then appointed commander of the fortress department of the Guards Artillery Regiment and on May 1, 1858 a member of the examination commission for prime lieutenants of the artillery. He was then promoted to lieutenant colonel on October 18, 1861, and to colonel on March 17, 1863. Subsequently, on June 16, 1863, he was transferred to the 1st Artillery Fortress Inspection as an inspector and on June 25, 1864, while maintaining his position as inspector, he was also commander of the fortress artillery regiment No. 3 . On April 18, 1865 he was transferred to the artillery and engineering school as director, and he was placed à la suite of his old regiment. But already on October 2, 1865, while retaining his position à la suite of the fortress artillery regiment No. 3, he became commander of the 8th Artillery Brigade.

During the German War of 1866 he was commander of the artillery of the Elbarmee . He fought at Hühnerwasser , Münchengrätz and Königgrätz . In addition, on September 20, 1866, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves and swords on the ring, and on December 31, 1866, he was promoted to major general with a patent on October 30, 1866.

He received the Mecidiye Order II on September 10, 1867 . On July 23, 1868, he took his retirement and received the star for the Order of the Red Eagle, on May 4, 1869, he was put up for disposal with his pension .

During the mobilization for the Franco-Prussian War , he was used on July 18, 1870 as commander of the Deputy 44th Infantry Brigade . On February 28, 1871 he was given the character of Lieutenant General and returned to the inactive relationship on October 8, 1871. He died on August 24, 1890 in Coburg.

He married Helene Karoline Luise Pauline Rozynski on April 20, 1837 in Breslau (* December 7, 1818, † December 22, 1884). On December 12, 1839 (published February 9, 1842) both were raised to the Prussian nobility under the name of Rozynski-Manger .
