Hernâni José da Rosa (born February 3, 1984 in Antônio Carlos , Brazil ), called Hernâni , is a Brazilian football player who also has Polish citizenship . He plays in the defense primarily as a central defender .
Career
Hernâni began his youth career with the Brazilian Série A club Gremio Porto Alegre , where he made his professional debut in the 2002 season. At the beginning of the 2003 season he moved to the Série B club Avaí FC .
After just one year, Hernâni made the leap into European professional football in January 2004 . He signed with the Polish first division club Górnik Zabrze . There he became a regular player in the 2004/05 season. In the summer of 2005 he then moved to the league competitor Korona Kielce for the equivalent of around 500,000 euros . There he was able to prevail and became a regular again. After the forced relegation to the second division in 2008 , they managed to return to the Ekstraklasa as a third place. Since January 2011, Hernâni has also had Polish citizenship .
On February 13, 2012 it was announced that Hernâni will move to league leaders Pogoń Szczecin in the second division, where he signed a three and a half year contract. The transfer fee was the equivalent of around 120,000 euros . However, Hernâni was allowed to play for the last time for Kielce in the game against Jagiellonia Białystok (2-0) on the first match day after the winter break (February 20, 2012) . With 153 league appearances, Hernâni is the record player at Korona Kielce. It was not until February 22nd that he made his way to Turkey for the training camp in Pogoń. In the summer of 2012 he was promoted to the Ekstraklasa with the club. In the Ekstraklasa he was not always a regular player and made 60 league games and 3 hits in 3 seasons. Hernâni has been without a club since the beginning of the 2015/2016 season. With 220 games in the Polish Ekstraklasa, he is one of the foreigners with the most appearances in Poland's top division.
In 2017 he then continued his career with various lower-class clubs. He is currently playing for the fifth division KS Zakopane in 2018/19 .
