Herrad Prete's works were exhibited in numerous solo and collective exhibitions in Luxembourg, France, Italy, England and Belgium from 1968 onwards. She also worked on numerous bibliophile art print editions in Italy, Luxembourg and Belgium as part of Origine. For her work she received the 'Osella d'Oro' from the city of Venice.

style

At the center of her sensitive, atmospheric works, in which she developed her own mixed technique, is the capture of the special light of the city of Venice. She is inspired by painters such as William Turner and Lyonel Feininger .

On the occasion of the exhibition "Traces from Venice" at the Goethe-Institut Luxembourg (1992), Paul Bertemes characterized her art as follows:

“... Herrad Prete goes her own art way. She perceives tensions and moods, experiences colors and light, secures traces, walks through rooms, holds onto architectural elements [...] But these are all just the external influences that serve to work out multi-layered inner pictorial spaces. [...] Herrad Prete speaks a pleasantly consistent, graphically reserved language in her diffuse, misty light spaces. [...] This creates a structured, tense, poetic mood that has a captivating effect precisely because of its barren beauty. "
