The imperial barons von Herrlein were a Frankish noble family .

origin

The family comes from the community of Untererthal, which today belongs to Hammelburg . Johann Peter Valerius Herrlein was born there on March 26, 1767. He studied law and then became a baron Stein-Altenstein bailiff in Pfaffendorf near Altenkunstadt . In the nearby Pfarrweisach he owned the Gräfenhof estate. In 1792 he was Elector Karl Theodor as a baron of little master on Pfarrweisach raised to the peerage in 1795 and Prince Bishop bambergischen Councilor appointed. In 1806 Herrlein received his doctorate in Tübingen. iur. In 1816 he and his descendants were included in the registers of the nobility of the Kingdom of Bavaria.
