Reign of Königsfeld

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The rule of Königsfeld had been a direct imperial rule since 1276 with the main town of Königsfeld in the Eifel . Its existence ended with the occupation of the left bank of the Rhine by France in 1794.

history

On November 1, 1276, King Rudolf von Habsburg confirmed Gerhard III. von Landskron the perks, gifts and lendings to the villages of Königsfeld and Heckenbach with the associated rights and jurisdictions. With this, the rule of Königsfeld was detached from the Sinzig Treasury and subordinated to the Burgraves of Landskron as an imperial fief and became subordinate to imperial rule.

The basis for obtaining full state sovereignty is given by: Fixed ban and court boundaries, manorial rule , wild ban , high and low jurisdiction , tax and patronage law .

In 1371 the Landskroner inheritance was divided and the rule of Königsfeld came to the heirs Friedrich von Tomburg and Dietrich von Schönberg. In 1375 he sold his share to Friedrich von Tomburg. In 1397 Johann von Eynenburg was handed down as a joint owner. After several other changes of ownership and divisions, at the beginning of the 17th century the Königsfeld rule was exclusively in the hands of Waldbott von Bassenheim . These lost their rule finally and without compensation through the Reichsdeputationshauptschluss 1803. The Königsfeld Castle was demolished in 1830.

territory

The Königsfeld rule was divided into three administrative and judicial districts:
