Herta Ilk

Herta Ilse Käte Ilk (born September 9, 1902 in Brieg / Silesia , † August 29, 1972 in Augsburg ) was a German politician of the German Democratic Party (DDP), since 1947 of the FDP .

Life and work

Herta Ilk, b. Gerd food, studied for her A-levels in Bytom law and political science at the University of Breslau . There she received her doctorate with a thesis on the civil law position of the interim master in 1931. After graduating, she was a housewife and gave legal advice on a voluntary basis. In 1939 he moved from Breslau to Augsburg, where Ilk worked as a legal advisor at Dresdner Bank . After the war she worked as a lawyer in Augsburg.

After she had been a member of the DDP from 1919 to 1933, Herta Ilk joined the FDP in 1947, was a member of the state board of the FDP in Bavaria from 1948 to 1953 and of the federal board of the FDP from 1950 to 1964 .

Herta Ilk was a member of the German Bundestag from November 3, 1949 , when she replaced her deceased party friend Fritz Linnert , until 1957 . She was responsible for social and equality policy in her group . Herta Ilk was the first female lawyer in the Bundestag. She was then a city councilor in Augsburg from 1960 to 1970. In 1961, Ilk was the founder and member of the first board of directors of the Society for Freedom - friends and supporters of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation .

Part of the estate with documents about her work for the FDP in the Bavarian State Executive and in the German Bundestag are in the archive of liberalism of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom in Gummersbach .
