Hidetoki Takahashi ( Japanese 高橋 英 辰 , Takahashi Hidetoki ; born April 11, 1916 in Fukushima Prefecture , † February 5, 2000 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese football player and coach.

Career

Takahashi played for Waseda University in his youth . He won the Imperial Cup with Waseda University in 1938 . He started his career at Hitachi (today: Kashiwa Reysol). He played there from 1941 to 1958.

In 1957 he was in charge of the Japanese national soccer team . In 1959 he was in charge of the U-20 Japanese national football team at the U-19 Asian Football Championship in 1959 . At the 1962 World Cup / qualification and the 1962 Asian Games , Takahashi acted as the coach of the Japanese selection.

He died of pneumonia in Tokyo on February 5, 2000 at the age of 83. In 2009 he was inducted into the Japan Football Hall of Fame .
