Gorō Yamada ( Japanese 山田 午 郎 , Yamada Gorō ; born March 3, 1894 in Fukushima Prefecture , † March 9, 1958 in Tokyo ) was a Japanese football player and coach.
Career
Yamada played for the Aoyama Prefectural Normal School as a youth . He started his career at Tokyo Shukyu-Dan . He won the Imperial Cup with Tokyo Shukyu-Dan in 1921 .
In 1925 he was in charge of the selection of the Japanese national soccer team at the Far Eastern Championship Games in 1925 in Manila. ( Philippines (0: 4), Republic of China (0: 2))
He died of a cerebral hemorrhage in Tokyo on March 9, 1958, at the age of 64. In 2005 he was inducted into the Japan Football Hall of Fame .
