Saburō Kawabuchi ( Japanese 川 淵 三郎 , Kawabuchi Saburō ; born December 3, 1936 in Takaishi , Osaka Prefecture ) is a former Japanese football player , coach and official.

Career

In 1958, Kawabuchi made his debut for the Japanese national soccer team . Kawabuchi made 26 international appearances, scoring eight goals. With the Japanese national team he qualified for the 1964 Olympic Games .

From 1961 to 1970 he played for the works team of Furukawa Electric (today: JEF United Ichihara Chiba ) and was later coach of this team from 1973 to 1975, and from 1980 to 1981 for the national team . He later served as President of the Japan Football Association from 2002 to 2008 .
