David Hiepler (born August 1, 1969) grew up with his older sister in Düsseldorf and Basel. The first intensive examination of photography took place during a study visit to Oxford . As a result, Hiepler moved to Berlin to complete his training as a photographer, which he successfully completed in the summer of 1994. Several joint projects with Fritz Brunier took place during the training.

Fritz Brunier (born March 20, 1972 in Krumbach (Swabia) ) he grew up in Bad Wörishofen . During his school days he discovered photography as a means of expression. After graduating from the Maristenkolleg Mindelheim in 1991 and the subsequent one-year internship with a photographer, Brunier was accepted at the Berliner Lette-Verein , where he completed an apprenticeship with David Hiepler until 1994.

Hiepler and Brunier have been working together under the name hiepler, brunier since 1997. As artists, hiepler, brunier, worked on topics of their own choosing and also repeatedly commissioned in collaboration with architects, with international magazines and with design and advertising agencies.

Several of her works have been shown in galleries and museums in Germany and in many other countries. hiepler, brunier, received numerous awards.

In 2018 David Hiepler and Fritz Brunier founded the artist collective Neue Langeweile together with Marcus Bredt , Simon Schnepp and Morgane Renou

hiepler, brunier, are founding members of the Bundesverband Architekturfotografie (BVAF), whose primary goal is to sensitize the public to the value and quality of architectural photography. David Hiepler has been a member of the BVAF board since March 2018.
