Hieronymus Hassenberg
Hieronymus Jakob Hassenberg (* around 1685; † 1743 in Lübeck ; founded January 7th in Lübeck Cathedral ) was a North German baroque sculptor.
Life
Hassenberg was before his activity in Lübeck around 1704 court sculptor of Duke Hans Adolf of Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Plön (1634-1704) in Plön . From 1714 until his death in Lübeck, he worked in Lübeck and created high altars , pulpits and epitaphs , which were based on the art forms of the baroque prescribed by Thomas Quellinus with the Fredenhagen altar in the Marienkirche . He lived in Lübeck am Klingenberg in the "White Swan" and signed "HIHS FECIT" next to "Hassenberg fecit".

In Lübeck
Hassenberg created the epitaph of Lübeck's mayor Thomas von Wickede († 1716) in the Aegidienkirche , the high altar in the Jakobikirche (1717) donated by the mayor Hermann Rodde , whose bust is on the altar. Various decorative elements of the funerary chapels and tombs in Lübeck Cathedral , such as the portal of the burial chapel of the Prince-Bishops of Lübeck and the tomb for the canon Heinrich von Focke (1673-1730). In 1723 he carved the altar of the St. Lorenz Church in Travemünde .
