Hilario Chavez Joya

Hilario Chávez Joya MNM (born January 14, 1928 in Mexico City , † March 4, 2010 in Leon ) was Roman Catholic bishop of Nuevo Casas Grandes .

Life

Hilario Chavez Joya joined the Congregation of the Missionaries de la Natividad de María in and received on 22 October 1950, the sacrament of Holy Orders .

On April 13, 1977, Pope Paul VI appointed him . as prelate of Nuevo Casas Grandes and titular bishop of Crepedula . The Apostolic Delegate in Mexico , Mario Pio Gaspari , ordained him episcopal on July 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Adalberto Almeida y Merino , Archbishop of Chihuahua , and Manuel Talamás Camandari , Bishop of Ciudad Juárez .

Chávez Joya was appointed Bishop of Nuevo Casas Grandes on June 3, 2000 by Pope John Paul II .

On May 22, 2004, the resignation was granted for reasons of age.
