Hilary Bailey

Hilary Denham Bailey (born September 19, 1936 in Bromley , Kent ; died January 11, 2017 in London ) was a British writer and editor.

Life

Bailey studied English literature at Cambridge University . In 1962 she married the writer Michael Moorcock . Moorcock's novel The Black Corridor is based on a concept by Bailey, although she is not named as a co-author. In 1978 the marriage was divorced again.

She is best known as the editor of the New Worlds Quarterly (# 7 to 10) anthology series, which emerged from the science fiction magazine New Worlds . Most of her short stories and essays also appeared in New Worlds .
