Hilda Carlén (born August 13, 1991 in Ystad ) is a Swedish football goalkeeper who last played in 2018 for the Swedish first division club Linköpings FC .

Career

Carlén played in her youth at her home clubs Öja FF and Ystads IF FF, as well as IK Pandora and Hammenhögs IF in Skåne . In 2009 she moved to LdB FC Malmö , but did not appear there in the A-team. After a temporary engagement on loan basis at Linköpings FC , for whom she also played in the round of 32 of the 2010/11 UEFA Women's Champions League , she returned to Malmö in 2012, but remained without a role in the senior team. In 2013 she played for Hammarby IF in the second division. From 2014 to November 2017 she guarded the gate of Piteå IF . She returned to Linköpings FC in January 2018 and played in the quarter-finals of the 2017/18 UEFA Women's Champions League in March , but conceded seven goals in the two games against Manchester City . In April and May, she was used in four league games and then announced that she was pregnant and that would end the season for her.

National teams

Carlén took part in the qualification for the first U-17 European Championship with the Swedish U-17 team in 2007 and 2008 , but failed in the second round at eventual winners Germany. With the U-19 team, she then took part in the U-19 European Women's Football Championship in 2009 , where she lost to England in the final. By reaching the semi-finals, however, the team had qualified for the first time for the 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup, in which Carlén also guarded the goal. After the preliminary round was finished as group winners, the quarter-finals against the Colombians, who also qualified for the first time, were eliminated. With the U-23 team, she took part in tournaments in La Manga in 2012 and 2014 .

On February 12, 2015, she made her debut in a friendly against Finland in the Swedish national team . It was also taken into account for the Algarve Cup 2015 , but was not used there. In May 2015, she was nominated for the 2015 World Cup as the Swedish player with the fewest appearances. But she was not used and was eliminated with her team in the round of 16 against Germany . She was also part of the squad for the 2016 Olympic Games, in which the Swedes won the silver medal, but was not used.

In qualifying for the 2017 European Championship, she played in a 6-0 win against the Republic of Moldova. It was not used in the finals. In 2018 it was used again in a friendly against South Africa in January and at the Algarve Cup 2018 .

Private

Her father Per and her brother Oscar played for the Swedish national handball team .
