Hilde Kähler-Timm

Hilde Kähler-Timm (born March 1, 1947 in Bargstedt ) is a German author for children and young people .

Kähler-Timm was born in a village in Holstein . There she grew up with five siblings and several animals. After training as a qualified librarian, she studied German and art history in Kiel and Hamburg and worked in academic libraries. Today she works as a part-time teacher for city youth care. There she works mainly with foreign children. She leads writing seminars and has been authoring books for children and young people for many years.

She lives with her family in Bad Schwartau near Lübeck .

In addition to her books, Hilde Kähler-Timm has also been writing haiku for several years , which is considered to be the shortest form of poetry in the world. Some of her poems appear regularly in the haiku yearbook, which publishes the best haiku of the year.

The children's book "We are the ABC" has been translated into Spanish. Under the book title "Aventuras de los trillizos ABC" it has been used successfully as a school book in Colombia for years.
