Hilmar W. Duerbeck

Hilmar Willi Duerbeck (born July 19, 1948 in Klarenthal ; † January 5, 2012 in Schalkenmehren ) was a German astronomer .

Life

In 1980 Duerbeck completed his habilitation at the University of Bonn with Eruptive variables - observations, analyzes, models . He was among other things co-editor of the book series Acta Historica Astronomiae and the Journal of Astronomical Data . Most recently he got involved a. a. at the Hoher List observatory with the processing of archive materials . Duerbeck was a member of the Astronomical Society and the International Astronomical Union (IAU). In almost 30 years of his research he has made a large number of publications and was also co-editor of numerous specialist books.

He was married to Waltraut Seitter since 1975 .

On March 18, 2003 the asteroid (9327) Duerbeck was named after him. From 2006 to 2011 he was a volunteer Wikipedia author.
