Hinnerk Köhn (born December 4, 1993 in Eckernförde ) is a German moderator, slam poet and author.

Life

Hinnerk Köhn, the son of a car dealer and a library assistant, grew up in Eckernförde and graduated from the Jungmannschule in 2013 with a focus on history. He studied cultural studies and aesthetic practice with a focus on literature and theater as a minor at the University of Hildesheim , but did not finish his studies.

In the same year he was able to achieve second place at the German-speaking U20 poetry slam championships in Kiel, and in the following year in Berlin he made it to the finals. In 2014 he became the city champion of Kiel in the poetry slam. Since then he has been an internationally sought-after slam poet, has performed over 1,000 appearances at various poetry slams and has performed in France in cooperation with ARTE and the Elysée contract .

His short stories often relate to his youth and his homeland, he is known for his very black humor and sarcasm. He often appears as a moderator, for example in 2015 he moderated the Deichbrand Poetry Slam in front of over 7,000 spectators together with Ko Bylanzky or the regular format Powerpoint Karaoke in the Hamburg Club Molotow .

Since 2015 he has been a member of the well-known reading stage "Randale und Liebe" in Hamburg together with David Friedrich , Bente Varlemann and Fabian Navarro .

His poetry clip "Masha", which he shot spotblind together with the film production company, won the audience award at the IM.Kasten Festival in Lüneburg.

Köhn worked for various event agencies in the poetry slam sector, and since 2015 he has been employed as a booker and editor at the label Kampf der Künste . Since 2017 he has been moderating the YouTube format “Ham & Slam”, a talk show where Köhn and another guest from the poetry slam scene have breakfast together. Previous guests have included Jasper Diedrichsen , Andy Strauss , Felix Lobrecht , Jan Philipp Zymny and Till Reiners .

Together with DJ Max Scharff , he runs the podcast Normale Möwe .

He lives and works in Hamburg .
