The Hirschberg is 528.8  m above sea level. NHN high, wooded mountain of the Franconian Alb low mountain range in the central Franconian district of Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The wooded Hirschberg is located southwest of Treuchtlingen and southeast of Möhren , south of the Hahnenkamm near the border between the communities Treuchtlingen and Langenaltheim . Not far to the west is the Grottenhof forest area . The Möhrenbach , a tributary of the Altmühl, flows west and north past the mountain. Not far to the north are the Lämmerberg and Lenzbühel , in the northeast the Mühlberg . To the east of the Hirschberg lies the town of Haag near Treuchtlingen . The mountain is situated in the Altmühltal nature park in a conservation area .

The Hirschberg belongs in the natural spatial main unit group Franconian Alb (No. 08), in the main unit Southern Franconian Alb ( 082) and in the subunit Altmühlalb (082.2) to the natural area of ​​the Upper Altmühlalb (082.22).
